Information Regarding 4/25 News Event and Media Inquiries
As you may have seen in the news, there was a serious incident at the White House Correspondents' Dinner this evening. While details are still emerging and facts remain under investigation, early reports have referenced a teacher from Torrance as being involved.
We have received several inquiries requesting additional information. We want to clarify that the individual named in the news is not an employee of the Torrance Unified School District and has never worked in our district.
Torrance Unified Emergency Alert System
In the case of an incident affecting one or more of our schools, such as an earthquake, fire, medical emergency, or security threat, our Torrance Unified Emergency Alert System will be activated.
In addition to on-campus notifications, emails, and texts, this webpage will also provide updates with critical information about the incident.
Upcoming Drills
There are no upcoming drills at this time. When they are scheduled, Torrance Unified families will receive more details in an email prior to the drill and communications from their school principals with instructions. Please email communications@tusd.org with any questions.
